The SAVE Clinic is seeking outgoing, engaging, friendly, and empathetic individuals to join our Billing Team in South San Antonio. This position helps patients access the clinic and any resources the patient needs to help them achieve the best possible health outcomes by ensuring appropriate insurance information and authorizations are documented. Must be able to multitask efficiently. Spanish-speaking is highly recommended

RESPONSIBILITES:
-Verify insurance status, active benefits, and copay requirements for all patients using any of the following resources:

• Patient's insurance cards
• Waystar
• Availity
• Individual insurance online portals
• Phone calls to insurance companies
• Hospital registration portals
• Phone calls to patients

-Obtain prior authorizations as needed per individual insurance requirements, including:

• Researching appropriate CPT codes to request
• Assigning appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes to support requests
• Establishing positive relationships with referring offices
• Tracking outstanding authorization requests and following up
• Fax, email, or upload authorization requests

-Other duties:

• Assist billing team by processing outgoing claims, correcting rejected claims, and investigating/resubmitting denied claims
• Assist patient access team by answering incoming phone calls, assisting callers, and transferring calls as necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
