We are currently seeking an Intake Scheduler to join our team at our Springfield location. The role represents Springfield Psychological while speaking with prospective patients who seek psychological and/or psychiatric services. The Intake Scheduler is responsible for matching the prospective patient with the most appropriate clinician based on the needs of the patient, as well as, verifying insurance and financial responsibilities of the patient, managing a high volume of phone calls and patient referrals from Primary Care Practices, and working successfully on a high functioning team!
Desired Experience and Requirements:
- Experience working in a medical or behavioral health office highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of insurances, including verifying insurance status and reviewing patient financial responsibility based on their plan coverage
- Ability to handle high volume of phone calls in a professional, service-oriented manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an energetic personality are a must for this position as this position interfaces with our clients on a routine basis
- Ability to manage change in an optimistic manner
- Ability to ask questions when help is needed and offer suggestions to complete work effectively and efficiently
- Ability for critical thinking when issues or concerns are raised
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-prioritize tasks
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Navinet billing software and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Competencies:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act in accordance with HIPAA regulations required
- Strong communication skills, specifically exhibiting empathy when interacting with patients over the phone
- Ability to work in a team setting, upholding the mission and values of Springfield Psychological in your interactions with both colleagues, clinicians and patients
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work, with an eye for process improvements and efficiencies
