Job description

The Intake Specialist is responsible for referring clients to appropriate resource(s) in order to meet their mental health and psychosocial needs and ensure efficient and effective mental health services. The main task of the Intake Specialist is to enroll clients for services by scheduling the initial intake with designated staff and processing the initial and ongoing paperwork in order to initiate and continue to qualify for services.

Requirements:

· Screen and begin process of admission for potential clients

· Provide referral and follow-up for other needed services.

· Monitoring of wait list clients to ensure that mental health services are provided within a timely manner.

· Responsible for checking Medi-Cal eligibility before client admission to program.

· Responsible for Pre-Intake & Intake process of clients and forms.

· Maintain contact with school personnel as necessary.

Qualifications:

· Have a BA preferred

· Bilingual in English/Spanish with excellent oral and written communication skills

· Must be capable of managing regular business travel and heavy work schedules to meet program deadlines.

· Must have a reliable vehicle a California Driver’s License and vehicle’s insurance.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Windows and Adobe and familiar with Electronic Record Keeping systems.

· Must be able to travel to field locations as needed to network with other agencies.

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
