Required Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related therapy field

THIRA Health is seeking a qualified Intake Therapist to work in our Intake Department who is passionate about treating adolescent girls and women in mental health settings. The candidate must have strong clinical assessment, interpersonal, and administrative skills, be familiar with HIPAA policies and have experience professionally working with mental health patients and their families/supporters in a behavioral health setting. The candidate must be a strong multitasker and able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth psychosocial assessments with women and adolescent girls with mood, anxiety, and/or eating disorders, as the first step of treatment in the Intensive Outpatient and/or Partial Hospitalization levels of care
• Assess for risk and safety concerns during intake assessments. Create safety plans with prospective patients and their family members. Facilitate referral and admission to inpatient psychiatric facilities when patients are determined unsafe for outpatient level of care offered at THIRA Health
• Document intake assessments in electronic medical record using clinical terminology that is compliant with both patient insurance and state regulatory requirements. Use DSM 5 to diagnose presenting mental health conditions
• Conduct prior authorizations with third-party payers (insurance companies) for all new admits
• Quickly build rapport with patients and their families during their initial on-site visit and provide comprehensive answers to questions about THIRA program offerings
• Provide psychoeducation about DBT Treatment Model and orient patients/families to program rules and expectations
• Facilitate new patient orientations on day of admission to new patients and their families/supporters

Our Leadership: THIRA’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mehri Moore, brings with her over 35 years of experience, which she applies in her care and guidance over each individual’s experience. THIRA’s Clinical Director, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, recently transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
