Salary Range: $53.00/hr commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions

Function:

Provide assistance, support and training for Associate Regional Director, SBDC program operations, to include policy development, database activity, communications, advisory board and strategic planning activity, field, and specialty SBDC compliance, certification programs, and special events of the Texas South-West SBDC Network per the SBDC Cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business administration (SBA) and per the requirements of the State of Texas.

Support and assist Associate Director in providing client services for 10 Field Center and multiple Specialty Centers in a 79-county region across South, West and Central Texas.

Duties:

Assist and provide support and training for Associate Regional Director with the following:
  • Develop, maintain, improve, and enforce SBDC Network Master Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct annual on-site programmatic reviews, biannual SBA onsite programmatic reviews, and SBDC site visits as needed.
  • Ensure program compliance, including accreditation self-study and reaccreditation process.
  • Facilitate Business Advisor, Training and Administration Professional Certification programs.
  • Oversight of operations support staff (MIS administration, survey activity, and reporting to funding sources)
  • Coordinate activity with executive leadership and financial operations.
  • newsletter and other network communications as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration or Communication.
  • Minimum of five years professional/management level experience in any combination of the following: advising or training of small businesses in management or technical skills, staff member within a business development organization, manager, or proprietor of a business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, funding agencies and the public.
  • Working knowledge of client management systems, personal computers, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite and standard office equipment.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or Public Administration from an accredited institution.
  • SBDC, SBA, or other public-sector, grant supported, program administration experience.
  • Experience with database/MIS reporting systems (Neoserra or equivalent).



Working Conditions

Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid (regularly): Works remotely and on campus a set number of days; 5+ days on-campus per month. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
  • Position is primarily located: UTSA Downtown Campus, 501 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. San Antonio TX.

This is a Part-Time, Grant-Funded position. Continuation is contingent upon funding availablity and/or work.
