The role of Inventory Control Supervisor is to oversee the Inventory team to ensure accuracy for the complete product life cycle, from receiving to shipping, within the warehouse.

The Inventory Control Supervisor will lead and demonstrate the values and culture of “The Unipart Way” by adopting lean management principles and approach.

As a leader, you are expected to motivate your team by giving direction and guidance, monitoring performance to ensure the site achieves exceptional service to the customer through focusing on continuous improvement and promoting a team based culture.

This is a new start-up warehouse, approximately 285,000 sq. ft. processing approximately 40,000 lines weekly. We operate in a tight and tough labor market and the ability to retain and lead people in this environment is critical. You will be challenged and will have the opportunity to contribute considerably to the success and growth of Unipart.

We seek a solutions-oriented, strategic thinker who will bring their expertise and knowledge to this role as we continue to elevate and enhance our existing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Stock Integrity for the site to deliver operational excellence
  • Develop and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are maintained and updated
  • Ensure site adopts best practices that control Inventory Accuracy
  • Execute daily inventory analysis; identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and problems
  • Create Physical Inventory (PI) plan for site and ensure KPIs and SLA requirements are met
  • Propose ideas to increase the inventory accuracy along with reducing frequent errors or issues
  • Create and analyze Quality reporting to support business needs/initiatives
  • Partner with Operations Management to recommend actions to continually improve storage facilities in line with forecasted business needs by building business cases for recommended improvements
  • Foster a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture
  • Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety and Security requirements are met by complying with Group policies and procedures and all relevant legal regulations (including C-TPAT requirements)
  • Maintain a safe, healthy & secure work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection and onboarding of employees into the department
  • Supervise, organize, direct and train employees to deliver high quality services, leading by example and actively engaging employees in the warehouse

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience, in a warehouse or distribution environment with a focus in inventory control
  • Ability to supervise teams and manager heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP functions/transactions
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to deal with conflict and maintain a engaged and productive work environment
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours to meet operating needs of the business

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, twist, stoop for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk the entire floor for the length of shift and stand for long periods of time

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
