Job Description:
Primary responsibilities of the Investment Product Sales Specialist (Hybrid Wholesaler) are to provide investment-related reviews and sales ideas, positioning of investment strategies and thematic investment content exclusively to Equitable Advisors field force. This role will be required to provide sales support in the form of branch visits and presentations, outbound calls within an assigned territory of Financial Professionals and answering incoming inquiries via the Sales Desk main line. Specialists are responsible to cultivate productive working relationships as a dedicated headquarters resource for Financial Professionals in their territory.

The products supported include mutual funds, equities, fixed income, third party managed accounts, alternative investments, brokerage accounts and advisory accounts. Support will also include training, product knowledge, and investment research, developing historical illustrations, sales ideas and assisting FPs with sale situations.

The Investment Product Sales Specialist will become an influential part of the Broker Dealer Sales, responsible for supporting sales throughout Equitable’s retail distribution system. This is truly a team environment for people that are able to see the long-term rewards of a growing company.

The base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $75,000 and it is eligible for variable compensation. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years investment industry experience
  • FINRA Licenses Series 7, 63, 65 (or 66) required
  • Demonstrated sales, customer service and presentation skills in large and small group settings
  • Managed account, mutual fund, or brokerage experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with investment products, Financial Professionals, or end-clients, wrap or investment advisory programs
  • Problem resolution skills required and must be motivated, sales-oriented, and persistent
  • Proven writing and verbal communications skills
  • Established experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Morningstar Advisor Workstation experience strongly preferred
  • Progress towards or desire to pursue advanced industry designations

Client Relationship Management: Knowledge of client relationship; ability to address issues critical issues to meet client needs and maintain engaged, partnering relationship with business partners and clients.

Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Knowledge of Product Line: Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for specific products; ability to develop product line processes and strategies.

Knowledge of Sales Channels: Knowledge of meanings and features of sales channels; ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling an organization's products and services.

Lead Generation: Knowledge of principles, approaches and tools used in generating leads; ability to develop, deploy and implement lead generation program.

Listening: Knowledge of effective listening issues and techniques; ability to gather, clarify, and apply information transmitted verbally, while exhibiting a genuine interest toward the speaker.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Selling: Knowledge of diverse sales tools, tactics and techniques and ability to use these to persuade a person to buy a product or service.

Strategic Sales Planning: Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques and tools; ability to develop sales plans that are future-oriented, support business strategy and reflect understanding of emerging, as well as existing, opportunities and markets.
