About CANO
Community Academies of New Orleans (“CANO”) is a new charter school management organization created to bring together Esperanza Charter School, Foundation Prep Charter School, and Lafayette Academy Charter School with the ultimate goal of strengthening all three schools. The nonprofit boards that governed Foundation Prep and Choice Foundation voted to establish this partnership in 2019 to benefit from the organizations’ shared values, similar programming, and strong leadership, and set operations of CANO to launch ahead of the 2020-2021 academic year.

About the Role
The School-Based Information Technology Associate is required to provide IT support to faculty, staff, and students. The IT Associate is expected to support and demonstrate strong technical aptitude necessary to cope with rapidly changing technology, and work productively with minimal supervision. The IT Associate reports directly to the IT Director and the Principal.
Essential Job Duties

Resolve technology based questions and issues via telephone, email, and/or in-person

Manage Google for Education suite applications and Windows desktops, server applications, cloud-based services, printers, desk phones, smartphones, and portable devices in-person and remotely

Provide network administration for network users and IT assets

Make requested updates to the school websites as needed.

Responsible for computer, tablet, and smartphone provisioning, installs and upgrades

Ensure desktop computers and smartphone devices interconnect seamlessly with file servers, email servers, conferencing systems, and financial systems

Ensure effective and reliable backups are being performed

Monitoring and troubleshooting firewall, switch, Windows servers, and HCI hosts

Provide user training and orientation on hardware, software, and cloud-based services

Maintain, assess and secure inventory of installed software, hardware, manage software licensing and follow proper procedures for the disposal of electronic assets

Maintain, uphold and enforce IT documentation procedures, standards, best practices, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions

Participate in hardware and software evaluations/reviews and recommend purchases to the IT Director

Emergency Operations support as assigned

Hours: 7:45 am - 4:00 pm - Monday - Friday and some evening and weekends
Qualifications

Willing and able to carry out the mission and model the values of Community Academies of New Orleans

Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Two or more years of IT experience (preferred)

Strong problem solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to participate in professional development and instructional best practices
Physical Demands
-
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the workday while providing instruction. -
Regularly and frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a laptop or desktop computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, inside the classroom and school building while monitoring students productivity and behavior on a daily basis.

Occasionally reach with hands and arms and must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Occasionally ascend and descend stairs to migrate throughout the workspace
