The role:
The Democratic National Committee’s Tech team is hiring an IT Help Desk Technician to join our on-site support staff! We are looking for someone who can ensure that the Democratic National Committee runs smoothly from a technical perspective, and ensures our staff can fight to win elections in every zip code. The ideal candidate will assist the IT Help Desk Manager build, implement, and manage our workplace experience programs.

Responsiblities:

    • Support our staff across the country to solve their most pressing technical needs. We favor progressive, cutting-edge technologies such as Okta, GSuite, Macs, Chromebooks, JAMF, and rely on automation, scripting and security keys to keep our staff safe and productive!
    • Updating and curating documentation to ensure our policies, workflows and technical information are kept up to date.
    • Manage long-term projects from start to finish, ensuring we don't get caught up in the day to day tasks.
    • Communicate effectively with clients from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
    • Assist and support for events, such as All-Staff meetings, press conferences, and more.
    • Manage and response to IT tickets in a timely and customer service driven manner;
    • Escalate to tier 3 resources after exhausting all efforts at tier 1-2 level;

Experience & Qualifications:

    • Dedication to customer service with strong interpersonal skills;
    • Prior experience as a Help Desk Associate or Help Desk Technician;
    • Previous experience in politics is preferred, but not required;
    • Basic knowledge of networking such as TCP/IP, routing and switching;
    • Experience with both computer and mobile device enterprise management systems such as Google Workspaces and JAMF;
    • Knowledge of macOS and chromeOS is preferred;
    • Experience with ticketing systems including reporting and analysis such as Jira or Zendesk; and
    • Abilityto work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
We’re definitely looking for someone with Help Desk technical know-how but don’t require previous experience in politics.

Flexibility to work in one of our scheduled shifts if and when the existing associate cannot work that shift. These shifts are: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, or 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST. This role is required to work from our D.C. headquarters no less than 4 days per week.

The salary for the IT Help Desk Associate position is $70,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for overtime wages and is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.

This position requires up to 15% travel both in the Washington, D.C. area and across the country to attend and support meetings and events.
