Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Information Technology Division located at 1111 Locust
Salary Range: $7,268-$10,902/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- This is a critical IT Management position within the General Services Departments, IT Division for citywide enterprise cyber security management.
- This position will assume the role of citywide Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and will report to the General Services Departments, Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CISO is responsible for overseeing citywide Information and Data security by providing strategic oversight of all citywide IT Cyber Security programs.
- Definition, Scoping, Creation and execution of IT and Data Security strategies enhancing the reliability and security of the IT systems, projects and underlying data at the city.
- Overseeing teams that are responsible for, allocating resources to ensure the delivery of secure and robust IT solutions to all city departments as identified and agreed upon.
- Overseeing planning and execution of necessary vulnerability audits, penetration testing or forensic IT audits and investigations to ensure that outputs improve citywide IT Security.
- Oversee integration of new IT Systems Development with the city's overall IT, Data and Information Security policies, and procedures.
- Oversee staff training in all the latest security awareness skills, check associated protocols, methodologies and procedures to ensure they are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with any related legislation, such as the Data Protection Act, ISO & NIST standards or relevant government regulations.
- Plan budget allocations and associated financial forecasts relating to IT and Data security. Oversee all internal and external IT or Cyber Security Audits.
- Provide visionary cyber security leadership in cooperation with departmental and senior leadership along with providing excellent customer service.
- Manage and oversee third-party vendors, internal and external stakeholders, and internal service or solution providers to mitigate their potential cyber security impact and to ensure they are meeting citywide cyber security policies/requirements.
- Oversee projects, budgets and resources to provide good fiscal oversight and ensure the best possible ROI on all cyber security investments to include staffing, hardware, software and service providers.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
