Job Description
Minneapolis College is seeking a full-time, permanent Information Technology Specialist 3 (option code: Application) in the Information Technology division. The IT Security and Application Administrator will work independently with faculty, administration and staff to utilize various technologies to improve day to-day operations on campus. The main responsibilities of this position are to plan, evaluate, organize, design, develop and administrate various IT applications, services and systems that manage critical Minneapolis College internal business. This position will also have a focus on IT security, serving with the campus IT security team to ensure infrastructure, applications, and data are protected.
This position may be eligible for partial telework in accordance with Minneapolis College’s Telework Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of technical experience working in application administration, development, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience and creativity producing technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to frame clear and complete requirements, identify process improvement opportunities and match systems and services to complex business needs and goals to provide advanced solutions.
- Strong knowledge of technology systems and services sufficient to design, frame, and recommend applications, services, and systems which best meet requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of server technology, networking, telecom, wireless, and VPN solutions.
- Strong awareness of current and potential global technology security issues and threats.
- Demonstrated understanding of data governance, risk management and industry-accepted information security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, SANS.
- Demonstrated understanding of ITIL, LEAN, or other related methodology.
- Customer service skills (in person and via phone and in writing) sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs, and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a manner that is timely, thorough, courteous, respectful, and professional.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) sufficient to accurately write and edit materials including memos, procedures, reports, presentations; clearly explain complex technical ideas and procedures to both technical and non-technical audiences; and present recommendations and reports to senior managers.

$29.83 – $49.03 hourly; $62,285 – $102,374 annually
