POSITION: Journeyman Electrician Technician

LOCATION: Rexburg, ID

JOB SUMMARY:

Service and Repair Technician is responsible for performing field and in-house service and repair work for customers, the installation and setup of new machines, and ensuring customer satisfaction by performing high quality service work in a timely manner. The Technician’s work will primarily be focused on the electrical systems of Spudnik Equipment, but other repair work may be required from time to time. The Technician will enjoy a fast-paced work environment where relationships with customers is key.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

• Travel to and from customer locations to perform service work as directed.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Perform inspection during machine commissioning and make necessary adjustments to ensure correct operation of machine while maintaining quality standards.
• Customize equipment by rebuilding, fabricating, and assembling of additional electrical components based on customer orders.
• Communicate to management and supervisor any electrical issues relating to non-compliance or potential safety or hazard risks.
• Work in a team environment with little or no supervision.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment including shop, truck, and office areas.
• Fill in during team member absences.
• Keep and maintain accurate records of billable hours, miles traveled, materials and supplies used, and other records required by department manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a current and valid journeyman electrician license.
• Be able to work from and understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Excellent customer relations skills.
• Ability to operate lift trucks, pickups, and large trucks.
• Ability to learn and communicate well with others.
• Proficiency in basic shop math.

EQUIPMENT TYPICALLY OPERATED:

Computers, telephones, cell phone, copiers, fax, calculator, two-way radio, vehicle, amp and voltmeter, drills, PLC, frequency drives and power hand tools. Technician will be required to provide their own basic hand tools necessary for service and shop work needs.

TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The worker is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The environment includes a variety of physical conditions such a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or other high places. The employee may be exposed to one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
