The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounts payable team and the accounting manager with accounts payable and general business accounting.

Position Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Capable of working under pressure and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Collaborative, team oriented individual.
  • Knowledge of accounting software/ERPs
  • Experience with MS Office especially Excel.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with wire setups in CashPro.
  • Assists with processing ACH and checks.
  • Assists Accounting Manager with monthly posting to GL.
  • Prepares administrative vouchers and support payments.
  • Assists with pulling support documentation for annual audit.
  • Collects documentation and completes allocation for travel invoices.
  • Creates and maintains vendor files in accounting software and corresponds with vendors to ascertain complete files such as W8 and W9 forms.
  • Provides backup support for other accounting job functions as needed.
  • Enters transactions and financial activity in accounting system to include Accounts payable vouchers, WT vouchers, and WT/MU vouchers.

Experience

Required
  • 1 - 2 years: 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role.

Education

Required
  • Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
