Junior CAD Administrator

Based in our Houston office, the CAD Administrator, assists under a manager, all related activities of the 2D and 3D database on the project. The CAD Administrator ensures that all of the CAD software components have been customized and/or enhanced and have been properly integrated according to the needs of the project The CAD Administrator is actively involved during the project’s definition, implementation and closeout and archiving stages.

We are currently seeking a CAD Administrator, reporting directly to hiring manager to join our piping team based in Houston, Texas, USA.

About the Job

Based in our Houston office, the CAD Administrator, assists under the guidance of a manager, all related activities of CAD Applications and deliverables on the project. The Administrator ensures that all of the software components have been customized and/or enhanced and have been properly integrated according to the needs of the project The Administrator is actively involved during the project’s creation, implementation and closeout stages.

- Assists under the guidance of a manager, the project setup and customization activities

- Load and maintain the engineering specification database and libraries on the CAD project in coordination with the SPM Administrator.

- Creation and maintenance of Orthographic Drawing Setup.

- Creation and maintenance of Isometric Drawing Setup.

- Isometric trouble shooting.

- Maintain all Client Reviews, verify software is operating sufficiently, ensure model is up to date, and produce a tag report.

- Recover modeled objects as requested by the project.

- Database quering and reporting on all aspects of project

-Integration of various in-house and possibly third party softwares

- Knowledge of VB6, SQL and .Net required to:

• Develop/customize pipe supports and other specialty items parametrics for use in 3D design.
• Develop special interfaces and reports between the 3D database and other engineering tools.

- Interfaces with all third party software.

- Knowledge in MicroStation/AutoCad.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree including recent college grad with keen interest in computer aided design as well as database management. Coding knowledge/experience is an asset.
