Junior Estimator/Assistant to Precon Director

Qualifications of Junior estimator

  • Possess 2-5 Years’ experience in the Residential Construction Industry as an Estimator
  • Candidate to be Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Have extensive working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Possess excellent organizational, time management, and detailed orientated skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and tasks
  • Possess the ability to be a self-starter, independent worker, along with having a team member approach in getting work tasks completed.
  • Have working knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff and bid solicitation programs

Responsibilities of Junior estimator

Administrative responsibilities include:

a. Complete tasks assigned by the Pre-Con Director in an efficient and timely manner

b. Assist in maintaining the director’s schedule

c. Management of follow up tasks

d. Set up Zoom and Team Meetings with design consultants

e. Assist with downloading and managing project drawings and distribution of same to design consultant team members

f. Assist with organizing file hierarchy within Pre-Construction drop box files

g. Review status of jobs currently in “pre-con” phase and keep focus on key matters that need to be addressed to keep projects moving forward.

h. Assist with Project Status Reports to Ownership

2. Bid Solicitation and Leveling of Design Professional including:

a. Assist in Developing RFP's to design professionals, develop and define Scope of work and define key elements of the project that must be included in the Bids.

b. Collect bids, review, and develop Leveling Sheets for analyzation with Pre-Con Director prior to suggesting an award to Ownership.

c. Assist with communication between professionals to ensure they have necessary information to prepare their bids efficiently and successfully.

d. Communicate with design professionals to ensure implementation of Accurate’s goals and design requirements are included within the project development plans.

e. Assist in the coordination and management of projects in pre-construction and project turn over to Purchasing.

3. Estimating Skills

a. Assist with quantity takeoffs utilizing On-Screen Takeoff software, and Excel.

b. Assemble quantity takeoffs to aid in developing potential Value Engineering efforts.

c. Assist with developing outline specifications and standards to be utilized, and implemented by design professionals

d. Assist with developing Applications and small Contracts for design consultants
