Job description

State Fair Group is looking for a junior graphic designer, that also has some interest in shooting occasional photography/videography. Our ideal candidate will create and develop visual storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media, web, email, print, outdoor advertising, and much more. You will be working with minor league baseball teams (Sussex County Miners and New Jersey Jackals), as well as seasonal events such as: Skylands Stadium’s Jack-o-lantern Experience, Christmas Light Show, Food Truck & Craft Beer Fest, and our biggest annual event: State Fair Meadowlands. Our businesses are fun and entertaining, and you can help us spread the word with engaging visual content.

Must be self-directed & self-motivated, with the ability to handle many wide-ranging tasks. Candidates must be able to accept and use constructive feedback for improvement, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work nights and weekends 1-2 days per month (in exchange for working in our office, typically).

Responsibilities:

• Creates quality media and storytelling using graphic design, photography, videography and text that accurately informs, entertains and engages our audience.
• Asking fans and attendees for their permission to be used in our content.
• Works with marketing director and senior graphic designer to evaluate and improve content with constructive criticism.
• Works on special projects and performs editing of visuals when needed.

Requirements:

• 0-1+ year of experience in a related field
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, and bonus for Premiere/After Effects basic skills
• Bachelor’s degree or relative equivalent experience preferred
• Communication and collaboration with marketing, design team, and colleagues/coworkers
• Excellent planning, coordinating and multitasking skills
• Prioritization and flexibility to change when priorities shift, there are many fun and important projects, and some that just need to "get done"
• Strong idea generation and execution
• Ability to work on their own and make decisions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Weekend availability
