Position Summary

The Junior Tax Accountant will provide support to the Tax Manager in the department with various tax matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

─ Responsible for gathering all information for Federal, State and Local, including foreign, tax returns.

─ Prepare quarterly analysis of charitable contributions including preparing excel sheets, gathering backup and calling foundations for receipts.

─ Prepare quarterly analysis of dues including preparing excel sheets, gathering backup and contacting organizations for additional information.

─ Prepare quarterly analysis of meals and entertainment including preparing excel sheets, gathering documentation of receipts.

─ Preparation of depreciation schedules.

─ Prepare quarterly analysis for non-allowable deductions including preparing excel sheets, gathering documentation.

─ Prepare quarterly billings to foreign offices.

─ Prepare quarterly nonresident withholding forms and memos.

─ Prepare annual coordination and distribution for tax forms including Power of Attorneys, Address Verifications, Tax authorization forms, UK and state composite elections, etc.

─ Prepare monthly Sales and Use tax returns and NYC commercial rent tax returns which will be reviewed by the tax manager.

─ Assist with ad-hoc special projects as directed.

─ Assist with various other analysis and gathering of documentation.

─ Help facilitate the distribution of the partners’ estimated quarterly taxes, as well as the yearly K-1s and periodic partner distribution statements. This includes all proofing, copying and distributing either by utilizing the ClientShare portal, mailing, or emailing.

─ Prepare annual transfer of records to the warehouse.

─ Provide clerical support including answering phones, prepare certified mailing, copying, and filling.

─ Set up conference calls, schedule meetings, send Outlook invites as requested. Arrange catering if necessary.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

─ Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced knowledge of Excel.

─ Excellent communication skills.

─ Great attention to details.

─ Ability to multi-task.

─ Ability to prioritize and meet conflicting deadlines.

─ Strong work ethic and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

─ Strong organizational skills.

─ Ability to work well with internal and external clients.

─ Availability for overtime as required.

Education and/or Experience

─ Bachelor’s degree; Accounting degree a plus

─ 1 to 2 years’ related experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
