Under general direction, the Teacher Fellow is responsible for providing virtual pedagogical guidance to university faculty as well as instruction of the writing/communications course as part of COSMOS, California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Physical Demands: Walking – occasionally; May walk up to 20 minutes in and around UC Davis campus facilities, and various field trip locations in hot weather conditions.
• Lifting Requirements: Up to 25 Pounds (Light); Lift materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum Education/Experience

• Teaching experience with 8th – 12th grade high school students who receive intense instruction in advanced topics in math and science.
• Experience designing materials and activities appropriate to skill level of students and in concert with goals of math and science curriculum.
• Experience implementing and adapting pre-designed course plan to meet specific goals related to science and math curriculum.
• Experience using interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with ladder faculty, students, parents, and administrators.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

• Knowledge of appropriate instructional strategies, methods, and techniques for age-specific population.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Experienced in program evaluation.
