Ideal Team Member
The Key Account Manager for the Central U.S. will be accountable for the achievement of region and account-specific goals by developing customer relationships, managing broker partners and executing a trade marketing plan to drive sales and profitable growth through effective promotions, new item distribution and retail excellence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Increase sales at the accounts through analytical and fact-based selling.
- Develop fact-based analyses to understand market and category dynamics leveraging syndicated and customer data.
- Works directly with the chain buyers and sell-in the entire portfolio in an objective manner.
- Work with a sense of urgency towards projects, requests, and deadlines.
- Manage day to day tactics with brokers and distributors through meetings, scorecards and clear communication.
- Provide accurate forecasts for volumes and revenue for assigned accounts.
- Responsible for updating internal sales trade management system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Works within allocated trade budget.
- Attend trade shows as needed.
- Collaborate with operations, finance and marketing to develop and align on clear communication and plans.
- Responsible for all aspects of the territory.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years regional sales experience with strong preference for perishable foods experience.
- Working knowledge of business math.
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
- Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Must be self-driven, results oriented, and able to drive sales while working independently.
- Travel up to 30%.
