Gold Creek Community Church: Kid Zone Pastor (1st-3rd Grade)

Ministry Purpose:

GC Kids Zone Ministry covers kids in 1st-3rd grade at Gold Creek Community Church and exists to reach the next generation and their families with the great news of Jesus Christ and allow them to develop their own faith as a family.

Qualifications: 2-3 years experience

Job Description:

The Kids Zone Pastor’s primary duty is to love, serve, and lead the families of Gold Creek Community Church. To make sure the ministry is in alignment with the vision of GCCC. To serve primarily at the Mill Creek campus. This role also has the responsibility of working alongside the other GCCC campus Family Ministry staff members so that each campus is in sync with each other.

• As the Kids Zone Pastor your primary responsibility is to lead families to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through one on one connection and teaching of the Bible-based lesson each week
• Duties and responsibilities will include
  • Preparing for a weekly service- which includes preparing the kids sermon, worship songs, games, etc
  • You will also be responsible for sourcing worksheets, craft materials, preparing small group sheets and activities, snacks etc.
  • Preparing and running Tuesday evening Connect Groups for kids during the school year
  • Recruiting volunteers to help in the Kids Zone
  • Working with the entire Kids team at all campuses during the week to ensure cohesion and larger vision goals are met

  • A strong team of volunteers is essential to the success of each ministry.
• On Sunday- you will be responsible for:
  • Having volunteers for your ministry to have a excellent service
  • Making sure your room is set up to for a successful service
  • Executing a kids service, including but not limited to- worship, game, engaging bible lesson, and small group time
  • You will also be responsible for cleaning up your area and having it GC ready
• Part of your volunteer recruiting will include recruiting and developing a team of co-leads (someone to help co-lead with you on a sunday and or a Tuesday night) and speakers for the group Bible lesson.
• Community- We believe that no one should walk alone
  • As Kids Zone Pastor you are expected to continually meet with families/ individuals to get to know them, minister to them and find an area in the church for them to serve- whether that is Kids Zone or another ministry area at Gold Creek.
• Pastoral Care
  • To provide pastoral care for GCCC families through connecting, counseling (one or two times then referring to a professional), and prayer.
  • To officiate at weddings and funerals as called upon
  • To administer the ordinances of baptism and Communion
• Administration
  • To oversee the administration and management of all areas of the Kids Zone ministry
  • To support, supervise, manage, and evaluate the volunteers of the Kids Zone MInistry
  • To promote faithful financial stewardship with your volunteers and students as well as the budget of your ministry
  • To promote and know each of your volunteers spiritual growth journey leading them to a spiritual decision to publicly follow Jesus through Baptism

Position Requirements:

• Be a visible leader for the Family Ministry and overall Gold Creek Community Church
• Cast and implement vision for Gold Creek Kids Zone that is aligned with the vision of Gold Creek
• Recruit leaders and students to serve in Kids Zone
• Keep up to date on Kids Zone ministry trends to ensure maximum reach and appeal for families
• Plan sermon series ahead of time
• Sunday mornings should include but is not limited to being in the Kids Lobby and hallway before and after each service, connecting with families
