Primary Responsibility of the Job:

Safely operate Forklift. Stack and unstack lumber on kiln carts. Pick up all loose boards from yard and kiln area, separate usable boards from unusable, place usable boards on rough dry units with same dimension and take to planer shed, take warped, broken, bowed boards to the hog, keep kiln area clean (around kiln, rough green & rough dry storage areas), grease kilns, grease kiln trucks, perform or assist with various maintenance duties, help with burners, other duties requested by supervisor.

  • Keep work area clean.
  • Keep kiln area and lumber yard in a clean an organized manner.
  • Perform pre-shift daily Forklift checks.
  • Re-fuel forklift.
  • Drive safely
  • Verify all safety interlocks are working properly.
  • Follow all established safety procedures.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Willingness to accept greater responsibility.
  • Must be able to work with little or no direct supervision and be able to handle high stress situation.
  • Frequent sitting and standing.
  • Moderate bending, walking, reaching
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive movements
  • Occasional crawling
  • Moderate bending, pushing, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
