Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

The Kitchen Manger is responsible for the kitchen staff and cooking procedures to successfully create consistent, safe, quality edibles. Communication, attention to detail, and time management are critical to the success of our kitchen and to the continued success of our kitchen operation. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for navigating day to day operations producing products infused with various Cannabis derived oils. This position will work closely with the leadership team to ensure workflow meets the necessary specifications and Kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. Must be able to follow instructions and react quickly in high stress environments.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of production area and team including production scheduling, execution, staffing, and capacity planning
  • Supervise food prep and cooking and sign off on all batch input calculators
  • Diagnostic testing for edibles relating to the PH of some edible types during the cook and water activity of some edible types after the cook
  • Coordinate raw material orders and assist in keeping healthy inventory with the support of the Supply Chain team
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and work with the compliance department for updates/suggestions/new processes/etc
  • Continually train/develop skills of kitchen staff on all aspects of production
  • Store food products in compliance with best safety, quality and sanitation practices
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area by ensuring daily cleaning is being done and all logs are complete
  • Work closely alongside other teams, internal and external, to coordinate new product launches
  • Research and development work with the corporate products team relating to new product types and varieties
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends as dictated by business needs
  • Create and maintain all product specification documents, recipes, and formulas

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Food Science strongly preferred)
  • Experience infusing foods and other products required, working with cannabis oil infusion strongly preferred
  • Experience with the emulsification of food products
  • 5+ years’ experience creating various candies, chocolates, cookies, etc.
  • 3+ years’ management experience within commercial kitchen or food production environment
  • ServSafe Certification and HACCP familiarity
  • Familiarity with Ohio Medical Marijuana program and Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience with Metrc, Biotrack, or other seed to sale inventory tracking system
  • Experience with research, development and recipe formulation
  • Ability to scale up
  • Attention to detail with the utmost precision is an absolute must
  • Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Head/Sous Chef
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced and highly dynamic work environment Physical Demands:
  • Close visual focus required
  • This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk 100 feet

Mandatory Qualifications: A successful candidate will need to be 21 years of age and in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Must complete a State/Federal background check and fingerprinting.
