BayCare is currently in search of our newest Lab Medical Assistant to join the laboratory team who is passionate about providing outstanding patient care and customer service to the community we serve!
We are looking to fill Lab Medical Assistant I & Lab Medical Assistant II positions located at St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview.
- Collects, receives, and processes inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
- Communicates with nursing regarding patient specimens
- Refers specimens to outside laboratories
- Interacts with physicians, clients, and staff regarding lab tests
- Performs phlebotomy procedures
- Works independently and in a team
- Demonstrate organizational, time management, written, and verbal skills
- Use computer skills appropriate to position
- Use and understand medical terminology
- Must have customer service and interpersonal skills
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Lab Medical Assistant I
Certification & Licensure:
- Required - Driver's License (if applicable)
- High School or Equivalent
- Preferred - 6 Months Laboratory Related
Certification & Licensure:
- Preferred - Phlebotomy
- Required - Driver's License (if applicable)
- Required - High School or Equivalent
- Or - Bachelor's in Related Field in Lieu of Experience
- Required - 6 months phlebotomy
- Or - 6 months laboratory
- Or - 6 month related field
