What you will do
Ferroglobe Laboratory Managers oversee the operations of various types of materials for sites. The Lab Manager will ensure that safety protocols are followed, ISO 9001 efforts are supported, all Lab equipment is supplied, maintained, and calibrated with all other sites equipment as needed.
- Maintains laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards, troubleshooting procedures, ensuring staff compliance, and certifying instrument performance. (I.E. XRF & ICP equipment)
- Ensure lab samples are tested Immediately so that production can be continued
- Maintains quality results by establishing and implementing quality assurance measures, performing proficiency surveys, adjusting in quality procedures, and maintaining appropriate records.
- Generates relevant and detailed reports of all laboratory activity.
- Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by exploring alternatives, preparing proposals, developing and performing parallel and monitoring progress.
- Our Lab is a 24/7 facility, The Lab Manager will be on call at all times.
- Additional duties required.
- Bachelor’s. in Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Proven working experience as Laboratory Manager preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Heavy Industry, industrial manufacturing or related industry preferred.
- Effective data trending, document control, and technical bench skills.
- Experience Managing a Team of 4+ People

Working Environment:
- Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20 feet
- Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
