Summary:

Provide support to the Operations Department by managing the receipt, documentation, storage, and rotation of laboratory supplies and materials. This individual will also assist with general facility cleanliness and maintenance.


Primary Responsibilities for Role:

  • Receive incoming materials and supplies ensuring proper documentation of receipt, labeling, segregation, and storage conditions.
  • Ensure the warehouse, storage, and dock areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Stock and rotate Laboratory supplies according to date received/expiration date to ensure efficient use and minimize wastage.
  • Assist with biohazardous waste management, collate, review and file biohazardous waste manifests.
  • Assist Laboratory personnel with completing end-of-the-month inventory.
  • Assist with cleaning and stocking supplies in common areas such as break rooms, bathrooms, receptions, and conference rooms as necessary.
  • Assist facility personnel with performing general facility maintenance and inspection as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to speak, read and write English. Writing must be legible and neat. Must have basic Math and Computer skills, and effective phone and interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to apply rational thinking and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. The employee must be able to operate a pallet jack and maneuver or move large bulky items through doorways and halls to the destination.

High School Diploma or GED

Occupational Demands:

Work is performed in a laboratory environment. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic and caustic chemicals, and frequently to biological hazards. The employee will be required to work in a warehouse area where temperatures may reach or exceed 90 degrees F during the summer months. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
