The Riverside County's Transportation and Land Management Agency (TLMA) has multiple opportunities for Land Use Technician I(s) who will be assigned to the Consolidated Counter Services and Inspection Divisions, located in Riverside, CA.

The Land Use Technician I will play an important role in interpreting county land use ordinances for the public, providing assistance to customers seeking guidance and advising on land development and structures. The selected candidate(s) will receive proposed plans for building permits, collect fees, conduct research using maps and assessment records, as well as determine plans and conformance to State and local building codes, construction plan requirements, easements, setbacks, road dedications and planning requirements.

Competitive candidates will have experience with in land use, permit processing, zoning planning, title searches, building inspection, map making, surveying or degree in related field. Desired candidates will have experience using a Geographical Information System (GIS), Blue Beam, Public Land Use System (PLUS) software and Microsoft Office Suite.

The Land Use Technician I is a natural progression underfill for the Land Use Technician II. Incumbents are eligible to promote to Land Use Technician II upon successful completion of their probationary period, which would include a satisfactory performance evaluation and any additional qualification requirements.”
