Job Description

Pontiac Stamping is the lead stamping site supporting GM's vision of ZERO crashes, ZERO emissions, and ZERO congestion. All major sheet metal stamping provided to Factory Zero (home of the GMC Hummer) and Orion Assembly (Bolt EV, Bolt EUV) come from Pontiac.

As a key member of this stamping team, you will be part of the all-electric movement. This position is responsible for the stamping quality system for the all-new Flexible Fabrication Smart Factory being commissioned at Pontiac. Team driven development and deployment of the processes to make operations understood and effective using Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles will be required. Flex-Fab equipment will include laser cutting, RSW, laser welding, weldment installation, and other small assembly operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be a technical resource for manufacturing engineers, skilled trades and production teams
  
• Preparing 3D CAD files and import into Trumpf system.
  
• Programming for multiple laser cutters, including TruLaser Tube 7000, Fletbed laser (TruLaser 7030), cut/punch/form combo laser (TruMatic 7000)
  
• Provide plant floor troubleshooting, training and problem solving to root cause analysis for laser cut equipment
  
• Assisting UAW team in operating the laser cutters, periodically operating the machines
  
• Alignment with the weekly Production Schedule
  
• Optimizing cut programming to support quality
  
• Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to the manufacturing process
  
• Provide a safe work environment & follow all policies

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

• Experience/Knowledge of 3D CAD
  
• High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
  
• Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer and people centric
  
• Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  
• Ability to work OT or off shift as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Materials Science & Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field
  
• 2+ years of experience with Laser Cutting Engineering
