The Laundry Process Assistant is responsible for daily departmental duties in assigned areas including labor allocation, training, and communicating KPI with laundry management.RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Process Assistants are responsible for daily departmental duties in assigned areas including labor allocation, training, and communicating KPI with laundry management. Understands and abides by policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Identify production issues, supply information to help determine root cause, and derive resolutions.
2. Review performance of production activities to meet customer orders.
3. Monitor quality control process and technical problems related to all activities on the floor.
4. Communicate production updates and errors to Supervisor/Manager on a regular basis.
5. Assist production process, trains personnel and provides ongoing instruction in assigned areas.
6. Functions in compliance with all OSHA, Joint Commission, HLAC and Goodwill Linen Services Infection Control and Safety policies.
7. Provides input to supervisory staff in developing and maintaining procedures and processes necessary to meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
8. Coordinates workflow between areas and recommends personnel adjustments to maintain proper workflow. Assists doing whatever tasks are needed to maintain workflow and schedules.
9. Ability to trouble shoot malfunctions of equipment and work with the maintenance staff, informing them and the supervisory staff of any equipment malfunctions.
10. Assists in the daily cleaning of all areas and equipment.
11. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
12. Problem Solving: Close supervision for completion of routine work, which is regularly reviewed by manager or senior coworker. Work that exceeds “routine” comes with detailed instructions.
13. Technical Skill: Basic knowledge of discipline’s procedures and methods. Understands and applies the fundamentals of customer service. Able to respond to routine requests.
14. Community Engagement: Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community. Participates in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit.
15. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous laundry or production experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with differing abilities.
4. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
5. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs of customers and plan operations.
6. Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
1. Must be able to stand or be stationary for eight or more hours.
2. Ability to lift 40 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing 500 pounds.
3. Must have good hand dexterity to sort, fold, and operate power equipment on a continuous basis.
4. Must be able to observe product and linen appearance so that specific standards are met.
5. Ability to work in a hot and humid environment. Protective equipment may be required.
6. Perform tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue.
