POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the City Solicitor, the Law Clerk provides clerical and administrative support for the Solicitor’s Office, with a focus on the delivery of exceptional services to the community and City departments. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
High School diploma with course work in office/business practices.
Experience
Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of related administrative office experience.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Ability to work in strict confidence; deal effectively, tactfully, firmly, and appropriately with the public. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to process and maintain accurate records; work effectively and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a motivated, organized individual, who can effectively manage workload, and who possesses strong computer and typing skills. Skilled in using automated systems, Google Docs and the Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel. Computer operation, automated data processing and software skills. Ability to perform job duties independently, with accuracy and attention to detail; and the ability to follow direction. Creative thinking, writing, listening, problem solving and investigative skills. Chelsea residency preferred.
