Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for the most complex activities associated with the general ledger, financial/operating reports, and budget analysis. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and is a subject matter expert in at least two functional areas. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Works with external accounting partners. Leads department-based projects.
Responsibilities

Functional Competencies:
Financial Analytics
Identifies risks when conducting research and understands the financial implications of those risks to business activities
Draws upon multiple and diverse sources for ideas and inspiration
Researches and provides technical advice within areas of expertise to functional/operational Leaders to help them develop budgets, understand financial reports and manage their financial responsibilities
Accounting Process Expertise
Performs research and analysis required to complete financial reconciliations
Prepares complex financial reports and accounting statements providing Senior Leadership with insightful information for making financial decisions pertaining to standardized reporting
Acts as subject matter expert in at least two functional areas
Regulatory Compliance
Provides guidance to Accountants and Accountant IIs to ensure their work follow regulatory accounting guidelines
Oversees and is accountable for audit review of complex segments of the accounting function
Reviews footnotes and analysis for compliance with external reporting requirements
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related business field
Experience
Required: Degree and 5 years' work experience; or 9 years relevant work experience
Preferred: Public accounting experience
Preferred: SEC/DOT reporting experience
Preferred: Experience with technical accounting areas
Licensing/Certification
Preferred: CPA
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
Must have flexibility to work extended hours during the week and weekend, including Company holidays, during quarterly close or special projects
