Summary

Under the direction of the Assigned Management, this position supports operational strategies, process improvement initiatives and daily operations within the Reimbursement Account department. This position provides leadership, guidance and expertise to the team(s) while responding to and resolving written, telephone and personal inquiries from internal and external entities

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Serves as the team(s) expert and resource regarding operational, client and system issues.
  • Leads research effort for advanced client and broker issues and acts as a liaison between customers, internal departments, vendors, and business associates as needed.
  • Researches, interprets and responds to inquiries in a professional and efficient manner using problem solving skills.
  • Provides back up support to the teams when work inventory is elevated and/or when additional coverage within a team is required.
  • Supports the teams by handling escalated issues.
  • Supports the management of the department with all initiatives.
  • Leads system enhancements, process improvement projects as well as other special projects assigned by the department management.
  • Maintains current knowledge of department policies and procedures, IRS regulations governing flexible spending, health reimbursement, health savings and qualified transportation benefit accounts. Assists in training team members, including new hires.
  • Identifies team members in need of improvement and retraining and makes recommendations to management for such retraining.
  • Assists in the preparation of departments desk level procedures.
  • Leads team(s) effort and provides support to ensure all regulatory and management-imposed deadlines are met.
  • Participates in ongoing training to further knowledge of regulations, software systems, policies and procedures, and develops skills to accurately fulfill requirements of the job.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of five years of experience working in a benefit administration environment preferred. In lieu of degree, a minimum of seven years related work experience in a benefit administration environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Reimbursement Account Administration - usually gained through two years of solid Reimbursement Account Administration experience.
  • Demonstrate good planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong ability to plan and lead projects.
  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized and maintains high attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations with clients and members.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a positive attitude toward accepting new assignments and learning new functions.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel and Word.
