Position Purpose:
The Lead Network Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining the technical integrity and functionality of the network infrastructure and firewall components used by defi’s Clients. This position helps the business achieve optimum use of the environments by performing needs analyses, design, procurement support, installation, monitoring, configuration, automation, training, security configuration/integrity and problem resolutions. You will work with operational and engineering experts to define requirements, solutions and deliverables. Additionally, you will work with Client Services, Relationship Management and various development and technical teams to ensure the operational needs of our clients and internal users are met. This role is multi-faceted, requiring a candidate with strong communication skills and strong leadership skills.
Essential functions:

- Design, build, automate, and support firewalls, load balancers, and all other network components in the Azure or on-premise environments to achieve optimal performance and maximum availability to meet Service Level Agreements
- Participate in network troubleshooting with root cause analysis and recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve reliability, functionality and visibility
- Enhance and maintain Monitoring and Alerting solutions for all Firewall and Network Components
- Design, configure, automate and maintain network connectivity solutions per business and client requirements
- Design, build, automation and support DR solutions per Overall Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery requirements
- Provide on-call support
- Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new hardware, software, and Azure products to enhance functionality in support of the business
- Develop, maintain, and update a library of technical documentation
- Work with cross-functional teams in the design and implementation information technology

Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Eight (8) years of networking knowledge and troubleshooting experience
- Expert understanding of the TCP/IP Model
- Proven experience with monitoring, network diagnostics and network analytics tools
- Proven experience with Enterprise Firewalls, such as Palo Alto, including but not limited to, firewall rule implementation, maintenance, updates, WAN/LAN (BGP, S2S tunnels), network redundancy and high availability.
- Expert in cloud-based network technology
Preferred education and experience:
- Proven Experience with Networking components in Azure
- Relevant network certifications including Palo Alto PCNSE, PCNSA, PCCSA
- Relevant Azure Certifications AZ-900, AZ-500, AZ-303/304 or equivalent work experience with Azure
- Production-level experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible), CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps), and Software Development Methodologies

Travel required:
- Travel is less than 10% of time

Work environment
- Typical work hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday Eastern Time or Central Time and may require additional hours to complete tasks on weekdays or weekends.
