The Engineering Project Controls Lead provides project administration support to all Practices. The EPC Lead is expected to lead a high-performance team, and this will call for professionalism, proactive strategic thinking, and the ability to influence and lead others while delivering exceptional results.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to a team of Engineering Project Coordinators, Cost Analysts and Data Entry Clerks responsible for project coordination, project proposals, change orders, work authorizations, budget and schedule monitoring and time entry.
- Proactively coordinate and drive the performance of the overall T&D Practice Portfolio monitoring and control process.
- Advise Practice Supervisors/Managers to determine project portfolio resource assignments and establish project budgets.
- Ensure PPM system alignment with project tasks, resource type and assignments, and budgets.
- Analyze various KPI and metrics on project portfolio performance, for example: CPI, SPI, deliverable milestones, planned versus actual, burn rate, etc., provide recommendations to Supervisors/Managers, and resolve outstanding project portfolio management issues.
- Provide leadership to identify and drive resolution of discrepancies and adjustments of all relevant data as needed.
- Provide support to A/R Department to identify and drive resolution of invoicing/payment issues.
- Participate and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives and make process improvement recommendations
- Develop and share best practices with Engineering Project Coordinator Team across multiple offices.
- Any other tasks based on business needs.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 510-15 years of experience in project coordination or project management support functions.
- Experience in managing portfolio of projects and resources with 3-5 years budget performance management experience for capital projects
- Understanding of Project Lifecycle and at least 10 years of hands-on experience in the portfolio monitoring and controls.
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
