Overview:

Summary

This position manages the larger and more strategic vendor partner relationships as assigned supporting all contracts, negotiations, vendor management and reporting associated with assigned vendors. It also provides guidance and support day to day direction to the Procurement Analysts on the team while assisting in the operations of the Sourcing and Vendor Management team. This position also leads independent projects related to the scope of the Sourcing and Vendor Management department.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Trains and directs while supporting analyst progress toward their specific goals
  • Develops a uniform QBR process, Sourcing and Negotiation protocols as well as driving process improvement across the Sourcing and Vendor Management team
  • Leads procurement projects such as developing a repository of contract meta-data to help manage vendor contracts, and all vendor information by establishing timelines and delegating responsibilities
  • Oversees the vetting of potential vendors with strategic input from business practice areas to formulate a decision as to which vendors to onboard
  • Leads the contract negotiations as it pertains to the commercial items around pricing, discounts and rebates to net payment terms.
  • Leads vendor management activities across areas of the business as it pertains to dispute resolution or problem remediation with suppliers
  • Manages and analyzes vendor adherence to existing contracts as well as work with the strategic sourcing leader with regards to contract expirations, renewals or formal sourcing treatments
  • Updates and maintains key performance indicators developed by the Manager and assist with the development and documentation of all policies and procedures for the Contracts Team.

Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets priorities taking into account short and long-term needs of the business
  • Substitutes for the Director of Sourcing and Procurement for relevant business decisions and assignment of projects to the team when the Director is unavailable
  • Addresses questions that may arise from Internal and/or External Auditors regarding Contracts
  • Acts as a point person for other C1 department leads to evaluate project requests and or issue resolution

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications


  • Strong communications, problem solving, organizational and delegation skills
  • 10 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, supply chain or vendor management
  • Experienced with contract negotiation with good judgement, accuracy, and promptness
  • Communicates effectively, follow and give oral and written directions
  • Detail oriented with an aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to build positive relationships with all departments in a helpful, courteous, and friendly manner
  • Ability to think outside the box and have problem solving skills
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)


Desired/Preferred Qualifications


  • College Degree
  • Experience with formal ‘Sourcing to Pay’ business processes and systems to manage process
  • Experience with developing requirements and building ‘Request for Proposals’.
