EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Six months experience in field of facilities maintenance, e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical, lawn service, or janitorial.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A: Job Specific:

1. This position requires that the employee read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.

2. This position requires that the employee report to work/training as scheduled, stay awake and alert during work/training, and follow company policy for arranging for time away from work.

3. This requires that the employee follow all policies and procedures as written at all times unless documented reasonable accommodation is made or dispensation is given by the President/CEO.

4. This position requires the employee to interact with colleagues and all stakeholders professionally and in a manner consistent with policy.

5. This position requires the employee to be certified in all mandated training courses and demonstrate expected level of competency for each course completed.

6. This position requires the employee to operate a computer and required software effectively and efficiently including typing, navigation and interpretation of electronic data.

7. This position requires that the employee operate either a company owned or personal vehicle on behalf of the company.

8. Must maintain vehicle clean inside and outside.

9. Must always carry work phone while on duty and return calls and messages as soon as possible.

10.Clean rest area restrooms, buildings and grounds.

11.Assure cleaning of restrooms.

a. Restock restroom soap and paper.

b. Clean, mop and wax floors as scheduled.

c. Remove and replace trash liners and remove trash bags to the dumpster.

12. Assist and assure the cleaning and maintenance of all rest area buildings and rest area property.

a. Clean shelter tables, benches and washing out shelters

b. Clean and polishing outside drinking water fountain

c. Maintain patio water fountain to include draining, cleaning and refilling

d. Clean and sweeping of patio and hallways

e. Pick up litter in parking lot and curbs.

f. Remove and replace trash liners and remove trash bags to the dumpster.

g. Assist with watering and raking.

h. Prune and cut sucker limbs off trees.

i. Trim hedges.

j. Assist with all stages of painting.

k. Wash out pump house.

l. Wash out maintenance room.

m. Change lights in shelter, Welcome Centers, restrooms, hallways and patio.

13.Complete minor repairs per contract.

a. Mirrors

b. Sinks

c. Unplug toilets

d. Faucets

e. Sloan plumbing system

n. Automatic air fresheners

14. Notify Rest Area Supervisor of any maintenance and/or repair problems.

15. Start and stop E-time for Rest Area Workers and self.

16. Stir septic tank daily.

17. Transport Rest Area Workers to work sites.

18. Train, supervise and delegate work tasks to Rest Area Worker and report work performance to Rest Area Supervisor.

19. Notify Rest Area Supervisor of any problems regarding Rest Area Worker.

20. Implement on-site Rest Area Worker vocational and/or behavioral programs.

21. Follow daily work schedule as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

22. Comply with OSHA regulations regarding the rest areas.

23. Comply with MSDS information.

24. Accept and implement special assignments from supervisor.

1. Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.

2. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner by establishing and maintaining professional relationships that foster growth and development.

3. Complies with all organizational policies and procedures, to include all ethical business practices.

4. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the company.

5. Maintains current licensure/certification for position, if applicable.

6. Respect for diversity (cultural, ethnicity, ideas, etc.) and demonstrate ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

7. Must always carry work phone while on duty; respond to phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner.

JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Bilingual skills are not required but are beneficial.

2. Supervise self-medication as required by each Rest Area Worker.

3. Assist in developing and implementing ISP goals and objectives.

4. Instruct Rest Area Worker in emergency procedures and implement if necessary.

5. Assess Rest Area Worker through formal and informal observations.

6. Notify Rest Area Supervisor of progress and positive developments concerning Rest Area Worker.

7. Assist public when necessary.

8. Accept and implement special projects as assigned by supervisor

9. Assist Repair Technicians, Water & Wastewater Specialist & Maintenance Facilities Program Manager with Project as needed.

Rate of Pay: $15.75/hour

Hours: May vary
