The Goddard School of West Loop is a new, premiere, early childhood education program in Chicago. Our renowned program implements a play-based curriculum with a focus on social-emotional development. It is designed to meet the needs of children right where they are, supporting the development of a well-rounded child while giving them tools to cultivate their appetite for learning. We are looking for motivated, passionate, nurturing teachers with experience in early care and education. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain a safe, engaging, learning environment that promotes development in all domains as well as foster individuality, creativity, and confidence in children. The teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate lesson plan, utilizing the guidelines established by Goddard School. In addition, the teacher must be fun, creative, resourceful, active, professional, work well with others, and have a desire for personal growth through ongoing professional development.
Teacher daily duties include:
Developing lesson plans
Meeting the individual needs of the children
Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
The ability to understand and support the education program using the “learning through play” philosophy
The ability to interact with children at their level
Good communication skills with staff, families, and children
The ability to handle crisis situations effectively
The ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare
The ability to support and respect cultural and ethnic diversity
