    The Gem Prep Learning Society Leader supports a group of Gem Prep Online scholars in their synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. They will be responsible for helping scholars log in to their online classes and completing assignments, all the while creating a safe and positive learning environment. They will work closely with Gem Prep Online teachers to ensure scholars are able to complete their work in a timely and successful manner. Position starts on July 31st, 2023 for the 23-24 school year. Wage is $14.78/hour.

    Responsibilities
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
    • Working with small groups of students to reinforce instruction or skills outlines by certified staff
    • Ensure scholars are logging on to synchronous lessons in a timely manner
    • Support scholars in completing asynchronous assignments and turning them in on time
    • Provide safe learning environment in a Gem Prep Online space at either Gem Prep Meridian, Gem Prep Meridian North, or Gem Prep Meridian South (learning societies will be kept separate from the rest of the campus)
    • Support learning society partner teacher
    • Communicate with Gem Prep Online teachers about scholar progress to ensure their success
    • Communicate with families about scholar progress and additional supports needed to ensure scholar success
    • Assist Learning Societies leaders and Learning Society team to register additional students for Gem Prep Learning Societies.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Additional Information
    This is a pilot program so there will be changes throughout the year to promote scholar success. The ideal candidate will be flexible, a self-starter, and not afraid to ask questions. You will work closely with the Gem Prep Learning Society Administrator providing frequent updates and feedback on the progress of the Learning Society.

    Qualifications
    • Minimum Education- High School Graduate, some higher education preferred
    • Aptitude for working with children, parents, and teachers
    • Interest in children and the learning process
    • Desire to assist students in the learning environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ethical behavior
    • Ability to learn about educational technology platforms
