- $44,678.40 - $51,833.60 per year; based on previous relevant experience
Licensed Addictions Counselor Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing outpatient alcohol/drug evaluation and treatment services to clients participating in medication assisted therapy.
Responsibilities for Licensed Addictions Counselor
- Provide intake and readmission services including providing psychoeducational information on the potential benefits and risks of medically assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders.
- Refer appropriate clients for MAT services to medical staff for further evaluation.
- For clients eligible to participate in MAT services, orient them to MAT services, operation, and procedures.
- Provide individual, family and group recovery services and on-going treatment planning for substance abuse clients
- Collaborate with medication management team regarding treatment of clients participating in MAT services
- Provide minimum of four appointment hours per week after 5 pm; some program needs may require considerably more hours after 5, with accompanying adjustments in start time.
Qualifications for Licensed Addictions Counselor
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in addiction-related field, psychology, social work, human services, other related area with 33 credit hours of specific coursework in addiction counseling.
- Licensed by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) by the first day of employment.
- Two years’ experience in providing alcohol/drug assessment and treatment.
- Covid-19 vaccine or approved religious/medical exemption
Preferred:
- Experience working with clients being induced on Suboxone and/or withdrawing from opioids.
