Summary

The LADC provides direct service to daytime outpatient programs for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The LADC manages a full individual caseload by orienting clients to treatment and developing individual intervention, treatment, and recovery plans collaboratively. The LADC facilitates group sessions and conduct 1:1 sessions and charting appropriately. The LADC provides Life Skills curriculum, organization, and oversight. LADC may provide coaching to interns and facilitate development of clinical competency and ethical practice. Other job responsibilities include performing chemical dependency evaluations for clients and making the appropriate referrals and recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of counseling services to patients.
  • Timely completion of patient paperwork.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate patient records.
  • Provide case-management and referral services.
  • Maintain state required certifications.
  • Attend required training for keeping abreast of new knowledge and techniques related to the practice and new substance abuse treatment modalities.
  • Performs quality management/assurances activities, as applicable.

Education and Requirements

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential in good standing.
  • Masters Degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences with 1 year of prior Substance Abuse Experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Counseling experience with patients with addiction in a group setting strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Participates in trainings required. Must secure CEUs annually to maintain licensure and provides copies of CEUs.
