Linden Lodge Foundation is a non-profit organization that’s fully funded by community donors who understand how difficult it can be living with severe mental health issues. The Lodge provides a safe place for people who are struggling to learn skills to cope with their illness and helps them find their place in the world.

We are an adult care home with 6 residents who all suffer from various degrees of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, depression, and/or anxiety disorders. The Lodge is staffed around the clock 24-hours to provide support to residents with the goal of helping them gain a sense of self-respect, self-esteem, and develop a concept of self-worth while providing them with the skills to manage their issues so they can reach their full potential.

Job Description: The Direct Support Professional works as an active team member to maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe environment for residents. Staff will receive paid training in:

• First Aid & CPR
• National Crisis Intervention
• Medication Administration
• Bloodborne Pathogens

Direct Support Professionals who work Saturday & Sunday day shift (between 8:30am – 6:00pm) will be primarily responsible for encouraging the residents to participate in weekend activities such as in house events (movie night, game night, crafts, ping pong tournaments etc.), taking the residents to participate in community functions (community parades, festivals, craft or car shows) and/or other activities (going out to eat, going to the movies, bowling, , going to the highlander Christmas light show, etc.). All activities attended by staff will be paid for by the Lodge on the day of the activity and staff will use a Foundation vehicle to attend activities and so forth with residents.

Other responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, administering medication when needed, documentation as needed, light cleaning/assisting with chores, and other basic daily tasks to keep the Lodge running efficiently and smoothly. Direct Support Professionals will be required to attend a paid 2-hr staff meeting each month.

Saturday

1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

$13.00 an hour

Sunday

8:30 am – 1:00 pm

$13.00 an hour

Tuesday

6:00 pm (Tues PM) – 8:30 am (Wed AM)

$115.00 Flat Rate per overnight

(This is an overnight shift but staff can sleep between 11pm – 7:30am in a staff bedroom if you chose to)

Sunday

Thursday

6:00 pm (Thurs PM) – 8:30 am (Fri AM)

(This is an overnight shift but staff can sleep between 11pm – 7:30am in a staff bedroom if you chose to)

Requirements Upon Being Hired

• Must pass a drug test if requested
• Criminal background check (including the NC Health Registry)
• DMV Driving Record
• Valid driver’s license
• High-School Diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Aberdeen, NC 28315: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• being around people with mental health diagnoses: 1 year (Preferred)
• in a group home setting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Overnight Shift (Preferred)
