About This Role:*
his position is responsible for design, maintenance, training and support of the Laboratory Information Systems and related functions to assure accurate and efficient laboratory operations are compliant with all regulatory agency guidelines.

Activities:*

  • First level support for all LIS related Lab issues
  • _

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the LIS environment (Billing, Lab, and WindoPath)_

  • _

Set up analytical instrument IDs to enable merging of QC data_

  • _

Proactively monitor all Lab systems_

  • _

Ensure LIS servers redundancy and high availability options are tested on a semi-annual basis_

  • _

Test EMR, Enzo Direct and internal report formats_

  • _

Support in-house and all remote locations (Stat Lab, PSCs)_

  • _

Work closely with our Lab vendors on testing and implementing production changes_

  • _

Design, test, implement and document test plans for validating changes in production environments_

  • _

Set up instrument channel definitions, new users, remote autodials, interpretations and calculations within the LIS_

  • _

Assist in all aspects of Enzo Laboratory operations including Logistics, Client Services, Client Systems, Billing, Accounts Payable, Sales and Finance_

  • _

Assist in the support of submitting claims electronically_

  • _

Assist in setting up HIPAA compliant ANSI 4010 submissions, HEDIS, and various compliance and quality reports_

  • _

Facilitate electronic submissions of lab data as required to meet regulatory compliance for Medicare, Magnacare, DOH (Lead, MRSA, AIC, HEP, STD and HIV)_

  • _

Participation in the evaluation, comparison, recommendation and implementation of new LIS systems/modules_

  • _

Capture events that negatively impact the business via the internal Incident Report mechanism_

  • _

Perform ad hoc LIS reporting_

  • _

Manage all LIS vendor relationships_

  • _

Meet with stakeholders on a regular schedule to track performance and project work_

  • _

Temperature and humidity sensor maintenance (battery, resets, connectivity)_

  • _

Workstation maintenance for temperature/humidity system (reboot, upgrades, lockouts)_

  • _

Monitor UPS units for all instruments in the laboratory_

  • _

Monitor and assist with document scanners_

  • _

Monitor and assist with the logistic courier phones (in regards to hardware i.e. damaged phones, communication issues)_

  • _

Set up and maintain communications to the LIS/middleware (Sysmex WAM, Roche DI, etc…) for new instruments or replaced instruments_

About You:*
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, computer science, laboratory technologist, or equivalent experience or certification
Experience: 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory environment
Skills:
Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal/external customers
Demonstrate the ability to bring the benefits of IT to solve business issues while also managing costs and risks
Possess the ability to conceptualize and translate into system design and develop appropriate business case and with corresponding ROI
Be skilled at identifying and evaluating new technological developments and gauging their appropriateness for the business
Be able to mesh well with the existing management team by being a good listener, a team builder, and an articulate advocate of the IT Vision
Build effective working relationships
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects
Actions reflect a high degree of integrity and ethics
