Position Summary:
The Logistics Specialist will work with both internal and external data systems to create and maintain reports for key stakeholders within the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with various Business Units to develop, maintain, and report Logistic related sets of data. This position will report to the Manager of Supply Chain.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement advanced supply chain strategies to improve shipment visibility and optimize operations in partnership with third-party suppliers. This role will be a primary contributor to global logistics operations, and the successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in global logistic related analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize vendor performance through data analysis, cooperation, and joint innovation
- Contribute to KAI profitability by analyzing logistics costs and highlighting anomalies
- Developing and maintaining databases, data systems - reorganizing data into a readable format
- Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the predication and diagnosis of various issues
- Identify and lead improvements in logistics-related processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency for Kuraray shipments
- Analyzing local, national, and global trends that impact the organization as well as the industry
- Establish and maintain successful collaborative relationships with internal Kuraray Business Units
- Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities and propose system modifications
- Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to make important decisions based on various trends and facts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Computer Science or Business, or AA with demonstrated path toward Bachelor's completion
- Minimum 3 years of experience in domestic and international transportation and logistics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills including planning, data analysis, budgeting, and reporting experience
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and facilitating change
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills. Successful cross-cultural communication with global overseas offices
- Demonstrated detailed working experience with data visualization software such PowerPivot, Power BI, or Power Query, including report creation and modification
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Extensive use and know-how of SAP or similar ERP systems
- Verbal and Written communication skills
