Are you ready to join a dynamic team of safety professionals dedicated to helping California employers make their workplaces safe?
State Compensation Insurance Fund provides workers compensation insurance to California employers, from small to large businesses across all industries. We are looking for a dynamic safety professional to join our team in providing occupational safety inspection and consultation services to our policyholders. This position will provide safety services to policyholders with more complex and difficult risk conditions to reduce employee injury potential.
This is a teleworking position which requires frequent travel to assigned accounts; mileage is reimbursed. The servicing territory is primarily California’s far Northern Coastal counties, including Humboldt, Del Norte, and Mendocino.
Desired Qualifications:
- Two or more years' safety engineer or safety consultant experience in industrial work OR three years of professional industrial engineering experience
- Degree in Engineering or field directly related to Occupational Safety & Health (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis)
- Construction safety expertise is an asset.
- Skilled at assessing workplace injury/illness risk based on business operations to improve safety.
- Adept at interpreting workplace safety regulations regarding workers compensation and occupational safety and health.
- Ability to interpret charts, graphs, and mechanical relationships.
- Proficient at public presentations, training employees, and employers.
- Effective written and oral communication. This includes strong report writing skills with a variety of report writing software.
- Ability to document services effectively, using non-technical terms and vocabulary that will be clearly understood by policyholders.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is an asset.

SALARY: $8,976 - $11,229 per month depending on experience.
