What you will do in this role:
- You will obtains and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care.
- You will provide direct, evidence-based nursing care of assigned patients as directed by the physician or RN. Assists with procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed.
- You will Insert and maintain IVs, after meeting training requirements and demonstrating competency.
- You will administer prescribed medications to patients in accordance with hospital policies and practice guidelines. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- You will reinforce education for patient and family based on the individual needs of the customer.
- You will provide for the smooth processing of patients into and out of the department.
- You will provide accurate and pertinent patient information reports to the RN or CNC and to the oncoming shift to ensure continuity of care.
- You will provide and ensure patient safety at all times.
- You will facilitate the management of the day's scheduled cases.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need for this position:
- Graduate of a Vocational Nursing School
- 1+ year applicable experience preferred
- Currently licensed as a vocational nurse or practical nurse in the state(s) of practice, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- IV Certification as mandated by state of practice preferred
