Job description
Construction Company in Middle River looking for a Lute Man Paving Crew Member. The lute man is usually the “spotter” on the paving crew. He is charged with inspecting the mat and recognizing where there's a “high spot” that he can shave off to give the mat a nice finish.
Responsibilities:
- Distribute and Rake Asphalt Material used in Construction repair and resurfacing
- Finish surfaces by smoothing and tamping asphalt material to the proper grade and thickness to properly adhere material to road surface
- Attend all safety meetings
- Assists foreman and other crew members as needed
- Reports all incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Company policy.
- Strictly adheres to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Company Standards, as well as OSHA/MOSHA regulations
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in the paving industry
- Familiarity with paving and milling and SHA specs and requirements
- Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
