Responsibilities:

The seasonal Mailroom Clerk, under the supervision of the Mailroom Supervisor, is responsible for maintaining the package room in a neat and orderly manner. The Clerk is to coordinate the acceptance and distribution of packages to the residents and different departments of Manhattan Plaza.


Daily responsibilities of the part-time seasonal Mailroom Clerk include:

  • Receiving and distributing packages from United Parcel Service and the United States Postal Service on a daily basis to residents and operations and management
  • Scanning into property software, sorting and shelving the packages
  • Maintaining the package room clean and organized on a daily basis
  • Providing the supervisor with weekly tally of daily tasks assigned
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills
  • Other duties as required by your supervisor

Manhattan Plaza consists of two 46-story high-rise towers and various townhomes totalling 1,689 residential units of federally-subsidized housing. Encompassing a full city block, the property also includes street level retail, a parking garage and fitness center. The property is centrally located at 400 West 43rd Street, just west of Times Square. Seventy percent of the property’s units are occupied by performing artists with the remaining balance occupied by seniors and low-income residents. Compensation:
17.00 per hour
Qualifications:

Mailroom Clerk Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision
  • Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed
  • Understanding of computers/technology
  • Customer service skills
  • Must able to lift 50LBS and stand for 8 hours
  • Alternating weekend scheduling of assigned work will be determined at the discretion of the supervisor
  • The schedule may be changed by supervisor based on job need - at least 25 hours per week
  • SATURDAYS are a MUST and Overtime may be required
