Maintenance Electronic Technician
Job description
General Scope of Responsibility: Perform Maintenance Repair assignments, including electrical and electronic repairs, preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, facility and grounds maintenance, die repair, and industrial machine troubleshooting. Must be willing to be part of a team environment and actively assist team members in the performance of their duties. Perform necessary housekeeping in assigned work area, attend all required meetings, report all unsafe conditions and other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Hourly. Employee must be able to work as scheduled, including overtime as assigned. Must be available for all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights). Shift will be primarily stationary (seniority preference), but the employee must be available for all shifts to cover machine breakdowns, vacations, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Knowledge of basic and advanced electricity;
- DC and AC drive installation and troubleshooting experience;
- Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
- Advanced knowledge of electrical controls and industrial electrical troubleshooting ;
- Knowledge of electrical safety and the industrial electrical code
- Ability to provide mechanical and electrical support and make recommendations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
- Basic machining skills;
- Knowledge of tooling (dies and molds);
- Advanced understanding of hydraulic systems.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 80# in all directions.
- Safely operate forklift and other motorized industrial trucks and pallet jacks
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment such as hoist, cranes.
- Ascending or descending ladders and/or stairs.
- Prolonged periods working on feet, or sitting
- Ability to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces and move from one worksite to another to accomplish tasks.
- Able to perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping reaching with arms and operating levers and buttons.
- Repeating motions that may include arms, wrist, hands, fingers.
- Able to operate equipment and hand tools using levers and controls.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
- Possess detailed observation skills and concentrate continuously on task.
- Must be able to take initiative and work unsupervised.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment. Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary and rotating blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, and heights. Workers must exercise a high degree of care and safety to prevent injuries to oneself and others. The work environment can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy. Employees may be exposed to hazardous chemicals or fumes within permissible exposure limits. Workers may be exposed to ozone within OSHA parameters.
