Summary/Purpose
Responsible for working in TMS; Oracle; parts look up; and Maintenance Planning. They are also responsible for maintaining 5S in their area; safety; quality; record keeping and communicating with the manager. First Responder.

- Develop and schedule maintenance related preventive maintenance (PM) for each piece of equipment by following machine maker’s recommendations, machine history, etc. for assigned area.

- Coordinate with affected departments in the scheduling of all maintenance and manufacturing PMs to ensure completion by the due date.
- Perform audits of completed PMs to ensure the quality of the PM performed.
- Schedule all work orders ensuring parts, tools, and machine availability for repairs.
- Requisition tools, repair parts, and supplies as required for facilitating machine repairs and as other needs arise.
- Evaluate machine history, bill of materials, etc. to stock machine repair parts in storeroom to limit machine downtime.
- Periodically review machine bill of materials to eliminate obsolete parts in storeroom and to ensure sufficient min/max levels.
- Conduct part failure analysis to determine corrective actions necessary to improve machine run time and lower machine downtime.
- Provide information, data, reports, etc. as requested from the JTEKT Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Create charts and graphs necessary to document the performance of the Maintenance Department.
- Schedule Maintenance Specialist training and maintain master schedule of training.
- Participate in Improvement teams, as assigned.
- Available for call-in during off hours and weekends to support parts issues.
- Able to achieve forklift certification and drive proficiently, as determined is needed by our business demands.
- Must complete First Responder Training (including First Aid, CPR and Blood-borne Pathogens).
- May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
The Planner will develop and implement World Class planning process into all Maintenance functions by coordinating all aspects of assigned projects as well as support on other projects and maintenance repair work. Develop a program that is integrated within the fabric of the Maintenance function to ensure it can be sustained over time.
- Perform all functions required to maintain and sustain the program that would include: identifying individual job scopes; planning & scheduling individual maintenance jobs; coordinating multiple crafts/disciplines to avoid interference and downtime; optimize manning requirements for each job; coordinating proper inventory & non-inventory materials; and job follow-up for KPI reporting and continuous improvement action.
- Reduce emergency and recurrent work to World Class Standards by efficiently/effectively executing unplanned emergency work that will result in minimal disruption of normal Maintenance requirements.
- Become advanced through experience on the CMMS and drive its use for optimized output and service throughout all areas of the factory.
- Reviews, writes, and schedules all preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Manages workflow including Management level sign-off when production will not make machine available according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain metrics of Maintenance performance including the use visual management techniques to demonstrate equipment scheduled for PM during daily Fast Response.
- Accurate report generation for management to measure reliability of equipment base.
- Track cost of equipment downtime and maintenance.
- Maintaining the routine preventive maintenance and lubrication system and records, including appropriate equipment history records.
- Determining standard times for performing maintenance work including breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and other types of maintenance related work.
- Preparing and issuing periodic reports and information for the use of the maintenance supervisors and other management personnel in the appropriate plant maintenance activity.
- Receives, reviews and processes all requests for plant maintenance work
- Reviews work requests to verify that necessary entries have been made and that work requested is stated clearly and legibly. If necessary, and practical, obtains additional information from the originator and/or physically views conditions and record better description of work to be performed.
- Works with Maintenance Team members to conduct Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why and other methodology to prevent recurring reactive issues to equipment.
- Reviews and/or establishes priority taking into account management inputs for work to be performed and processes work requests in accordance with procedures dictated by the priority guide.
- Determines the resources required to perform work including methods, manpower, materials, special tools and equipment, clearances, time requirements, and use of outside services. When necessary, prepares supplemental work orders, sketches, and other appropriate information concerning job requirements.
- As appropriate, prepares detailed plans for accomplishing work, including: skill requirements, work methods, materials, special tools and equipment, clearances, time requirements, and use of outside services. - Use technical manuals, instruction books, prints, sketches, manufacturers’ data, and equipment history records to assist in the planning process.
- Determines material availability for shutdowns and other maintenance projects and, if required, originates stores request and/or purchase requisitions. Maintains follow-up records.
- Consults with maintenance supervisor and/or maintenance engineer and production operations when necessary to plan work properly.
- Develops preventive maintenance and lubrication instruction sheets, and routes and administers scheduling and compliance PM formats.
- Applies standard times to all maintenance work, using engineered time standards, including work order tasks and all scheduled preventive maintenance and lubrication routes. Reviews additional work on jobs after started and when necessary re-applies standard times to reflect changed job requirements.
- Reviews work orders with maintenance supervisor to assure that they are aware of prescribed methods, standard allowed times, and description of work.
- Determines special tooling availability and takes action to assure availability when work is scheduled.
- Performs liaison between maintenance and operations personnel.
- Prepares and publishes crew schedules according to approved procedures.
- Validates standard times for new categories of work and maintains consistent accuracy in applying data.

- College Degree in a related discipline or 5 years prior experience.
- At least 5 years Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Purchasing experience is also preferred.
