Description:

Responsible for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs the maintenance and repair of processing equipment, mobile equipment buildings and grounds in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Plans a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic operations.
  • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building.
  • Coordinates with Sanitation and Operations to ensure that the equipment is ready for production.
  • Plans the work shift to allow time for activity in the Safety Accountability Process and the Maintenance accountability Program.
  • Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Practical use of Mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic principles.
  • Use of math and physics to determine calculations.
  • Use of the computer to communicate, research, and analyze data.
  • Use of root cause analysis to investigate accidents and troubleshoot.
  • Understand the principle of the machinery and the total process.

Education & Experience:

  • BS Degree or the equivalent in education and experience
  • At least 2 years of experience that leads up to a supervisory position.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conducts crossover meeting with other supervisors.
  • Reviews PM completed and outstanding.
  • Checks the Action Item List
  • Reviews the work of the mechanics and provides instruction where needed.
  • Conducts safety and behavioral audits.
  • Review the payroll for errors and certify.
  • Attend Staff Meetings to review results.
  • Assist with savings projects.
