TxDOT's Ochiltree County Maintenance Office is looking for a Maintenance Support Tech I or II based in Perryton, TX.
Come join the Ochiltree County Maintenance Section as a Support Tech. This position keeps the office running day to day, assisting with phone calls, meetings, employee onboarding, orders and procurement, data entry, timesheets, and many other important functions. The ideal candidate is able to communicate and respond quickly and professionally via phone or email to members of the public, coworkers, and local government stakeholders. Salary Plan/Grade:
Maintenance Support Tech I, A13, $3,350.00 - $3,865.66 (monthly)
Maintenance Support Tech II, A15, $3,650.00 - $4,337.08 (monthly)

Maintenance Support Tech I
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Maintenance Support Tech II
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:
Maintenance Support Tech I and II
- Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages, and serves as receptionist or front desk assistant.
- Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.
- Assists in preparing monthly and final maintenance contract estimates.
- Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on adjustments needed.
- Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and permitting activities.
- Monitors and assists with data entry for maintenance contract record keeping.
- Reviews, prepares and negotiates applicable program purchases for services, office materials, supplies, tools and equipment and monitors contracts.
- Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Duties for Maintenance Support Tech II
- Assists with data entry for construction record-keeping.
- Maintains materials inventory.
- Research and compiles information for reports or inquiries and assists in organizing, coordinating and preparing written or statistical reports.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Experience:
Maintenance Support Tech I: no experience required.
Maintenance Support Tech II: 1 year in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Light work: Lift up to 20lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10lbs
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands and fingers

- Required to work weekends and holidays. (occasionally)
- Required to work hours other than 8 to 5. (occasionally)
- Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.
- Driver's record check will be conducted by the Department. Satisfactory driving records are required for driving state or personal vehicles and motor driven equipment to conduct agency business.
- Must attend work regularly and observe approved work hours.
